For the better part of the last 20 years, Kim has led numerous public corruption investigations involving elected officials and political operatives.  In 2019, she led the investigation and hearing into absentee ballot irregularities in North Carolina's Congressional District 9 which led to indictments of a political operative and a new election in that congressional district.  Keep scrolling to learn more.

PUBLIC CORRUPTION

Since starting her career at the NC State Board of Elections as an elections investigator, Kim has led investigations that resulted in the convictions or guilty pleas of high profile elected officials including a former governor, speaker of the house, council of state member, and members of the North Carolina state legislature.

ELECTIONS AND CAMPAIGN FINANCE

Kim served the North Carolina State Board of Elections for nearly 20 years as an investigator, Director of Campaign Finance, and Executive Director.  She provided testimony to election oversight committees on election administration, campaign finance reform and compliance, and election security. She served as the Chief State Election Official for North Carolina and oversaw the administratjion of elections in North Carolina's 100 counties.

TRIAL TESTIMONY

Kim presented sworn testimony in more than 15 criminal proceedings, and deposition and live testimony in more than a dozen civil proceedings.  She has provided expert witness testimony in election related litigation in three states.

EXECUTIVE SEARCH

The University of North Carolina System appointed Kim to lead the search for the President of the University of North Carolina System which is composed of 17 campuses.  In that role, she developed a search process that included stakeholder outreach and input to develop the position profile that was used to recruit, vet and ultimately select the UNC System President.
